Double Servo

On the civil status Adama Moussa SY and DOUBLE SERVO for close friends, based in the suburbs of Dakar, he is from Podor in northern Senegal. Around 1997, the Hip Hop movement is in full evolution and begins to extend its tentacles inside Senegal. It was in this stammering that the young Adama began to flirt with rap. The shift from rap to slam happens quite naturally with an easy and quick adaptation. Inspired then by the legendary French slammer Grand Corps Malade, Adama then began to familiarize himself with slam in 2010. Adama Moussa SY alias Double Servo is a multidisciplinary cultural actor: Senegalese cultural entrepreneur artist, he is the initiator of the international festival SLAM ET LEGENDE, teacher by training, developer of calls for cultural projects, producer at the Douera Record studio, in charge of urban cultures at the Baaba Maal river blues festival, Adama is ultimately president and director of POD'OR ART. As part of its artistic and cultural projects; it will focus on the promotion of urban culture, particularly slam in Senegal, by focusing on traditional oral genres. With his team, they also plan to provide support to artists working in rural areas and who are struggling to gain visibility. Today, Adama is in perfect collaboration with the international artist BAABA MAAL vocal lead of the group Dandè Lèniol. Adama, after his travels in Europe:

- August and September 2019 at the So slam and 36h Chrono festival in Charleroi, Belgium.

September 2019 at the VALENCE TON SLAM festival in Gers, France.

-October and November 2019 at the Joutes Poétiques Granvillaises. Adama highlights his travel experiences initiating “SLAM ET LEGENDE” every July which is in its fifth edition in Podor.

 

Since August 2021, Adama has been working with the artist ILAM and Diasporas music on international cultural projects to create a cultural bridge between Senegal, Canada and French Guiana. In November 2021 in Guyana, Adama participates in the Ngendy Men project as part of Africa 2020 In December 2021adama represents Diasporas music at the international meeting of broadcasters in Pistoia, Italy organized by Musiconnect Italy. For this year 2022, Adama and his association POD OR ART have established a partnership with MIXAGE from Guyana, AYAMANDE from Guyana and DIASPORAS MUSIC CANADA on artistic creation residency projects in several territories.
